Reno, my 5.1/2 year old ferret underwent surgery yesterday. It went well and he is now slowly recovering. I am concerned over his lethargy and the fact that he is not eating (again this was only 24 hours ago and I am probably just a very nervous mom..) He does walk around a bit and does try to eat a little. How long should I let him recover in peace? I am not sure he is drinking any water and I am concerned about his getting dehydrated. I am not overly concerned over his lack of appetite (he is on a very chubby side) but would like to know when I should expect to see him try to eat his fodd (he does refuse treats such as raisins and banana). His stools are small and very black (there is no trace of blood in it). Thank you for your feedback on this .. This is my first insulinoma surgery and I am unsure about the post op signs.
