Thank you all for your prompt feedback and tips. After 36 hours Reno is now drinking a little on his own. I gave him SQ fluids this morning to help him and will give another dose tonight.
He ate a little bit of AD mixed with warm water and ferretvite and, with some gentle hand feeding, some tuna with the water (he loves it..). He is more active ( though I do not expect him to go hopping around yet!). He gets easily depressed and I make sure he gets a lot of TLC to help him along in his recovery.
His belly is still quite swollen from the surgery, but no weird or new bruising has appeared.
