My Chong is going to a brand new vet (specialist) on monday afternoon. I think she may be adrenal, local vet not too experienced.
They (new vet) called and left message saying she needed to fast for 48 hours. O.K for water only.
Is this for possible adrenal blood work? Surgery?
I have not even discussed what we are going to do regarding Chongie, should she be fasting when no definite plans are made yet concerning her care?
I really do plan on surgery, if that's what the vet decides. But will she be taken immediately to surgery so she isn't fasting for too long?
Or is this for the lab work?
Is 48 hours without food too long?
thanks,
suzi
