An adrenalectomy isn't normally a serious surgery (provided your veterinarian is experienced) but it can be if the tumor has grown into the vena cava. Two of my ferrets have had adrenal tumors removed, but both were on the left side so that wasn't a problem.

Afterwards she will probably be very quiet for a few days, and they may send you home with Hill's A/D to feed with a syringe since some ferrets don't have a good appetite for the first couple days after. You should probably keep her confined to the first level of her cage and separate from other ferrets for a week or so, and watch her surgery site for any swelling, bleeding, etc. Make sure she's not licking it or biting it excessively as well.

Each ferret will react differently, but as long as she's eating and is somewhat active, there's really nothing to worry about.

Will I be able to keep her in her cage, will she be able to walk up the ramps? Will she eat her normal dry food or will I need to feed her a special diet and make sure she is eating every 3-4 hours? Will someone please help, I dont know anything about this sx except not to let her fast any longer than 3-4 hours contrary to what my vet said to let her start fasting after midnight and she wasnt to be there until 8 in the morning!!!! Any info on this sx would be of great help.
