Call the vet who diagnosed the ear mites and see if there was also a
secondary infection such as a fungal infection. Then discuss
treatment options. If there is a fungal infection then it may be
necessary to use Tresaderm or something similar. For ear mites alone
there are multiple effective approaches discussed in the Parasites
compilation at
http://www.smartgroups.com/groups/ferrethealth
so that you and your vet can discuss alternative medical approaches
to be safest.

Standard ear cleaners don't cut it for mites.
