I have seen a ferret with a blockage exhibiting exactly this kind of
behavior. I would keep an eagle eye on Goku to make sure he is eating and
drinking, and give him laxatone or other hairball remedy. If he stops or
dramatically decreases his food and water intake, or has small or no bowel
movements, I would get him to the vet immediately and ask about the
possibility of a blockage.

A blockage, as you may know, will not necessarily show up on x-rays, not
even the barium x-rays.

Good luck--it's scary when they are so distressed. My thoughts are with
you,

half-lit world where always the wrong thing happens and never the right.”
