What concentration of prednisone are you using? Is it Pediapred?
For insulinomic ferrets that are not responding well to prednisone, there is
another drug that can be tried called diazoxide (proglycem). Diazoxide acts
by inhibiting insulin release from pancreatic beta cells, while prednisone
acts to increase preipheral blood glucose concentrations (by various
mechanisms). These drugs can be used singly or in combination. Note that
diazoxide can be quite expensive.
