Call Dr. Weiss and have him tell your vet what to give your ferret. My ferret had the same problem, except I had already given her the percorten injection. He will probably want your ferret to be given dex, sub-q fluids, and a percorten injection or florinef. I suggest Florinef ASAP because it acts faster than the percorten injection. DO NOT WAIT!!! They can go downhill quickly! I wouldn't bother waiting to discover whether the electrolytes are off. You should still do the bloodwork, and if you can get the results immediately, then that's great. But don't wait for the results to treat. Giving Percorten, when not needed, will not harm your ferret. That's what I've been told. I'm assuming Florinef is the same. If you are at your vet's office, have him call Dr. Weiss to get the treatment protocol. Dr. Weiss will talk to him.

Best of luck!
