Took Pam and Melissa to the vet yesterday. He cut off the growth at the bottom of Pams foot - not a problem at all. I showed him what I thought were 2 huge lymph nodes on her belly and said it looks like they are getting big again. She is on Prednisone for possible lyphoma. He told me she has some enlarged lymph nodes, but the lumps on her lower belly look like "something fat pads" (I forget what he called them). He checked out the other lymphnodes throughout her body and said she was doing fine. She hasn't gotten much hair back, but since starting the Pred., her skin has cleared up and she is not itchy anymore.
Now Melissa, who I thought might have congestive heart failure, (she has a big belly and was told it might be acities)... is just fat! Her lethargy, he explained is probably because she is "a moose". Also, she just got a her thick heavy coat back and I took them away with me for 3 weeks in a heat wave.
I told him, the two of them eat a total of 3 jars of baby food a day along with probably a 1/4 of a cup of mushed Marshall kibble. He said that was fine.
I know they are old and won't live forever - but they are doing well considering their age and what they have been through.
