From the description, this was my thought exactly - that of a gastric
torsion, but I've never heard of this in a ferret. There is another
condition in which the viscera is actually reverse in a mirror image -
this is called situs inversus, and there are a numbe of other
deficiencies that are associated with this syndrome. I've heard of
it in dogs and mice, but once again not in a ferret.

My recommendation would be to be cynical here, and reshoot that
radiograph. Also a second opinion at another veterinarian may help,
as I think this one is a bit off the mark.
