Subject: CBC Question

Hello Everyone,

I usually fast the furkids for four hours before vet appointments
just in case they want to do blood work.

Well, I didn't do that with Kit and he was happily munching on the
Nutri-Cal when he was getting his temp taken just before they drew
blood. It works great as a distraction.

Anyway, now I am wondering how accurate the blood values will be. I
know I can expect the BG level to not be correct since a fasting
level is needed there but what about the other readings.
Will they be off too?

Thanks to anyone who might know the answer to this. I was also
wondering if anyone knew the point difference between fasting and non-
fasting on BG levels. If a ferret's BG non-fasting level is 81 what
could you expect the fasting level to be?

Thanks for you help,
Sharon
