Subject: Vaccination Questions.

I have three ferrets. Fitz, the oldest, is four. He has gotten
vaccines routinely since I have owned him. He used to get the DHLP/P
vaccine for dogs. He will get the new Merial vaccine this year.
Should I vaccinate now and boost the vaccine in a month or will the
previous vaccines have been sufficient to eliminate the need for a
booster, until next year?
My second ferret, Buster is two. He has a questionable vaccine
history as I have only had him for a few months. I was told he had
vaccines when he was a baby. He got the Merial vaccine on Wednesday
and seems to have done very well. Should he get a booster in a month?
My final ferret, Milos, is 16-18 weeks old. I was told she had been
given her first vaccine before I got her. She got a booster
Wednesday also and seems to have done well. I am pretty sure she
needs a booster but thought I would double check to be sure.
All of the ferrets will receive the Imrab 3 rabies vaccine a couple
weeks after the distemper vaccine.

By the way, you may remember that Fitz had ECE in July. He seems to
be doing great and has put his weight back on. He is eating well and
has loose stools only occasionally. Yay! I still feed him soup once
a day because we both enjoy spending the time together and so I can
be sure that his appetite is good.

Thanks for all your help and for being there to lend support and
answer questions.

Sincerely,
Erica,
Fitz, Buster, and Milos
