Subject: Ultrasound procedure question
Dropped Murphy off at the vet for her ultrasound this morning. They
had told me she would have to be dropped off between 8 and 9 am, and
I can pick her up in the evening. They didn't give me a specific
time -- just said to be there by 7 when they close. I called a
little while ago to ask what's the earliest I can pick her up, and
the vet told me "the ultrasonographer could show up 10 minutes from
now, or he could show up at 6:00. We don't know. We'll call you
when it's done."
This is the first time I've had to deal with this. Should I be
saying "Whaddaya MEAN, you don't know when he'll be there?" Or is
this common practice with ultrasonographers? (I don't want to get
annoyed if that's really how it works and there's nothing to get
annoyed about.)
And I'll have the results "no later than Monday." Does this sound
right, or should I have expected it today? (Again, I've never gone
through this before.)
Maybe this is just nagging doubts about the vet... I read another
post that mentioned a vet who treats the animal, not the numbers --
I'm afraid this one might prefer treating the numbers. I want this
finished, and I want Murphy home. Phooey.
I DO know I'm tired. Freakin' night job... :-)
Thanks.
