Subject: Frances (re: my post #10016, was "no subject")

Hi again. First, I apologize for omitting the subject in my previous
post! Second, update on Frances (4 y/o, suspected adrenal, vaginal
infection, now slimy stools and nausea since Wednesday):

After bringing her home from the vet last night, I fed and gave her
fluids a couple of times during the night, and once this morning. She
has had VERY soft stools ("duck soup" poops) and some more like
diarrhea, but no more green mucous so far and no more vomiting. Today
she seems a little bit more alert, has eaten a few pieces of her
kibble and is drinking on her own some too. She is sleeping now.
I made an appointment with the "other" clinic for tomorrow, which is
the soonest they can see us (after seeing her yesterday, my vet was
perplexed by this and is now out of town for a week). I will keep a
close eye on her until then, continuing supplemental food/fluids and
pepcid as needed. I will have them run a blood panel on her tomorrow
at the clinic.

My questions are as follows (let me know if I forgot anything):
1) How likely is it that there is a blockage? (barium and X-rays
showed nothing)
2) Could this be a reaction from the SulfaTrim? I searched the
archives and didn't find anything about this drug...anyone have any
experience with it?
3) How soon should I have the adrenal surgery on her after all of
this? I was trying to wait a month for financial reasons (still
paying off her deceased cagemate's surgery a month ago) since she
wasn't showing any discomfort or other signs of the disease. I know
it is better to have the adrenal surgery sooner rather than later.

Thanks for your help -
Nora and Frances
