Subject: adrenal/insuloma

I have a 5 yr old female, adrenal and insuloma's. She had one
kidney removed when 1yr. old. Currently on 10 mg diazoxide, 1 cc
prednisone(don't know the concentration, it is the liquid form).
She had a 6month luprun shot 2 months ago. She has improved greatly
since the lupron shot, but i am concerned about long term prednisone
use.
We are not considering surgery because in the last year i lost 2
other ferrets to adrenal surgery.
Although activity has improved her muscle tone has not. No hair
growth neither. I am happy with the lupron results but want your
opinion on the meds. Especially the predisone. Her diet consists
of Bob Church chicken gravy. Dry food is available in her cage but
she never touches it.
I know you guys will sugest surgery but i have had such bad
experience. The first was 3 1/2 yr old. Day after surgery had a
seizure. The second had both adrenals removed and a large insuloma
which meant partial removal of pancreas. days after surgery his
sugar was way high, kidneys shut down.
I just don't know what is best with these guys. Appreciate your
opinions
thanks, Mo
