Subject: Ultrasound procedure question

Well, where I go, I've been told that even though there's an on-staff
ultrasonographer, any scheduling is tentative because any emergencies would
clearly take priority over my ferret's ultrasound, particularly if there's
nothing immediately life-threatening wrong with the ferret. So this could
be a similar thing--the person will be in sooner if there were no
emergencies earlier in the day, or later if there were emergencies. Also
it's my understanding that reading an ultrasound can be a tricky thing, so
some readings can take longer than others. It's the policy at my vet's
practice to plan to pick up your pet at the end of the day, even if you
dropped them off first thing in the morning.

>And I'll have the results "no later than Monday." Does this sound right,
>or should I have expected it today? (Again, I've never gone through this

That might be a matter of when the ultrasonographer and the vet have a
chance to talk to each other and review the results together, if the vet
wasn't able to be present at the actual ultrasound. I'm just guessing...

Regina (not a vet, but has spent far too much time in an animal hospital's
intensive care ward watching this stuff go on around her :-/
