Subject: Insulinoma question
Hello all,
I am a new subscriber to this list and one of my
ferrets recently had a tumor removed from his
pancreas. My question is how often is insulinoma cured
with this surgery and how likely is the tumor to
recur? My vet said he read the cure rate is 25%, I
remembered reading a cross-post from Dr. Williams on
the FML some time back where he listed the percentages
from his practice and I seem to remember he gave a
higher figure. I am curious to hear from the vets on
this list how many ferrets they have seen cured with
this surgery vs how many have had recurring tumors.
My ferret Elvis had his surgery in November and so far
he is doing well.
