Subject: Re: Possible adrenal or shed?

I would have to say that the hair loss you describe is most
definitely not from shedding. It's not that uncommon for a ferret in
the beginning stages of adrenal problems with not terribly high
levels of hormones to spontaneously regrow all their hair and have
total relief of the symptoms. It rarely lasts. If you do nothing,
you'll probably see a return of the symptoms come spring or with
luck, next fall.

Some vets don't like to do surgery when symptoms are not currently
present, but since he has already had the left out, there isn't too
much doubt as to which gland would be the problem now.
