You are doing the right things: Lasix to free his lungs from
excess fluid and a sonogram (ultrasound) to know more
specifics which will help design the best medical approach for
him.
There is some info on cardiomyopathy in the back posts here on
the FHL which can be found using the search engine at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Ferret-Health-list .
For some reason the search engine dropped out for a little while
yesterday but then came back fine shortly after, so if it does that
again just wait and try again. It searches in chunks so you will
find that you will have to click the "button" on the screen to search
each next earlier chunk of information.
There is also cardiomyopathy info (one article by Dr. Bruce
Williams and a rambling thing from me that had a lot of additions
as we had sequential ferrets with cardiomyopathy, but never a
