Subject: skin Problem
Hello,
I have a ferret with a skin problem. He is itchy, has a sparse
course coat, has little brown scaly patches here and there is
lethargic and sleeps a lot. He eats, poops and pees ok. He has
been on pred for the itchies and while that seemed to relieve
the problem to start with it did not last. We thought it might
be an allergy to wool so remooved all wool but that made no
difference. We removed various foods from his diet over a
course of time but that has made no diffewrence eather. Just
the other day he developed purple raised lumps on one hip and
red swollen back feet. One foot in particular. When the purple
lumps were pricked with a needle they oozed a browny liquid.
He has just started a course of 1/8th of a tablet of vibravet
50mg for skin infection. This has been an ongoing complaint
and is the reason he was surrendered to me in the first place.
It is not contagious as he shares a cage with 4 others who are
all healthy. Does anyone have any ideas please.
Thank you kindly.
