Subject: Scooter update

I was asked to put on an update of Scooter whose bowel was inflamed
and stomach so enlarged. (He was one of the two kits who came
together and brought ECE into our home almost 5 years ago.) He is
much happier on Imuran but the disorder is not actually controlled --
just reduced to a point where he is happy. His activity level once
again is good and he almost never has prolapses now. Stools never
got any better than oatmeal consistency.
The person asking was curious about his claw growth which had become
so rapid that he had to have claws cut every week, or in even shorter
periods of time. On the Imuran that is one of the things which is
about normal now.
Recently, there has been a GI tract "bug" in the house and Sherman,
Scooter and Warp all have it. Since he and Warp have preexisting GI
conditions and had begun to grind (She is the 7 and 1/2 year old with
the friable small intestine.) they are on Carafate now. We're
watching them, being careful, and the three are living separately
from the rest.
