Subject: fasting time before surgery
I have a quick question. We have a little one going in for
adrenal surgery soon. The
vet, who I have never used before, but was recommended by
someone that I trust, advised
withholding food for the entire night before the surgery. I
kinda felt that more than 12 hours
was too long. Isn't the usual recommended time only 4 hours?
It was never a problem
before because we had a 4+ hour drive just to get to the vet,
but we are trying a closer
vet/surgeon this time. We would like to hear some of your
thoughts on this, please. Becky
