Subject: Re: Kabuki - Ferret with Allergies?

If it is an allergic reaction it will respond in a positive fashion to
Benedryl (and may also to Prednisone) so ask your vet about
trying that and be SURE that it is straight Benedryl instead of one
with other meds added. We had to do a late-night Benedryl test
on Warp recently when she developed what looked like an
absolutely huge hive late at night. Steve and i are still seeking
the trigger.

If this were our household I'm afriad that we'd cage up the critters
then take apart the closet and furniture to make sure that the
ferret has not stashed anything that has spoiled or gone moldy,
or is poisonous. I can tell from the last time that we dismantled
and moved two bookcases that it is not fun, but sometimes it's
essential to be safest.
