Subject: Vaccine and Microchip
Hello-
First, has anyone heard of an "avid chip"? I just found out today
that my ferret, that I've had for over a year, has one. I felt
something on her neck and brought her to the vet and he scanned her
and it is an avid chip. I'm going to the SPCA to have her scanned
and get some information. She is a Marshall Farms ferret which is
kind of weird, because I don't know if they do this kind of stuff.
I called the pet store and it wasn't them they told me.
About the vaccine...I would like any information anyone can give me
on the distemper vaccine called DV-ferret by Merial. On the bottle
is says something about canarypox or something like that in it. My
vet wanted me to get any info on this and whether anyone has tried
it and how it worked. He had four ferrets after mine, that had
reactions to fervac and they completely switched. Any information
would be greatly appreciated and can be emailed directly to me so
the list isn't blocked up. Thanks.
