Subject: Vicky update and tummy medication question

Hi all

I thought I post another and probably last Vicky update. Two and a half
weeks ago she was almost dead, very thin and anaemic from a bleeding stomach
ulcer. She had a blood transfusion and we fought hard for a few days but
she made it. At first she ate small meals of A/D, then, as she felt better,
she ate bigger portions and I was able to reduce the number of meals, I
first fed her 7 meals a day, then 5, now 3. She's also back on her ground
chicken. She went from weighing 650g to probably about 1kg now.

She was on Biaxin and Amoxicillin and is today finishing the two. She was
also on Carafate. She is back to being a healthy ferret and you wouldn't
think that she was so sick... I'm just wondering, should I continue the
Carafate or Pepto-Bismol for a bit longer and slowly wean her off it? Her
Carafate is finished, I would have to get another prescription if I wanted
to continue it. I still have a bottle of Pepto-Bismol though. She doesn't
mind the taste of either medication. So should I continue one of the
stomach medications for a bit longer? And if yes, which one is better?
