Subject: flaxseed oil

I'm confused. I thought flaxseed oil was good for you because it was high
in omega-3 fatty acids not omega-6. In fact, the bottle I have here says
that flaxseed is the most concentrated vegetarian source of omega-3s. It
does say not to be taken by pregnant or lactating mothers.

One of these capsules contains:
500 mg alpha-linolenic acid
200 mg linolenic acid
200 mg oleic acid
60 mg palmitic acid
30 mg stearic

So what makes something an omega-3 or omega-6 fatty acid?
