Hi Kaye,

just to let you know that the strong scent of an intact male
ferret has nothing to do with the anal sacs. The only reason
to have a ferret descented would be if they have problems with
the anal sacs like infections or if they constantly excrete
their contents which normaly doesn't happen unless they are
very frightened.

Hello,
They look like anal sacs from what I gather, I haven't
toutched them or
anything because I know he wouldn't want me to! I thought it
might be
another sign of adrenal disease, should I look closer at
them? i am taking
him to the vet soon...

No I don't think he is descented I got him on the 18th of
septemer 2001, he
was rescued from a shelter they had only had him a couple of
months and her
husband wouldn't look after him any more, so she sold
him...he still smells
so I would say that he hasn't been descented...he's seperate
from Taz and
Snowy at the moment, he is in season, and when I came back
off holiday I
found Taz is in season also, so they're all going to the
vets ( jill jab
etc)

well thanks reply as soon as possible, thanks

kaye
