Subject: Adrenal/Insulinoma research

I was just wondering, with the majority of us experiencing adrenal
and insulinoma in our ferrets,is there any studies or research being
done anywhere on how to reduce or eliminate these diseases? I know
that we are currently using Lupron and Melatonin to try and ease the
symptoms and at times get rid of the adrenal disease thru surgery but
I just wish there was something being done to try and stop it from
the beginning. I know there are a lot of theories on this. What
exactly would it take to start one of these or am I just blowing off
steam? It just gets so depressing to see these little guys go thru
what seems to be a common occurrance anymore. My Opie is having his
adrenal(s) taken out for the second time tomorrow so needless to say
I am a little upset. I know this would not be a simple undertaking
but am just curious. Thank you for letting me vent..
