Hi Victoria, I have a ferret with neurological problems and some very
kind people on here have helped me (and Tigger) a great deal. I've
posted several times discussing his situation and have received
numerous posts about treatment with phenobarbital. For all the
details, try searching the archives on "Tigger" or "Phenobarbital."
That should pull up a few of the discussion threads.

You've ruled out insulinoma and ADV, right? Those are two major
contributors to hind end weakness.

When Tigger first came back from the hospital, he couldn't use his
back legs much at all and he constantly wobbled in circles. If it's
a neurological problem, I'd talk to your vet to see if phenobarbital
would help. I know that without it, Tigger wouldn't be any where
close to being a normal ferret. Since he's been on it (for a little
over a month), it has helped tremendously! Of course, time has
healed him too. He's regained some vision and is living with the
others again.

My vet suggested an MRI as well, but since Tigger improved with the
meds we didn't have one done.

Either way, I hope that Stinky feels better soon and you find some
sort of resolution to the problem. Keep us posted and I hope that
this helped somehow...

Hugs,
Erin
