*Ignorance and stupidity should never be confused. Ignorance can be

know the circumstances.

Nothing is sadder than having an 8
month old die in your arms from this hideous

disease.

* As tragic as any death is, there is no age or gender factor
involved in ADV. It is indiscriminate in its' victims, and all
such deaths are sad. I have found that the longer any ferret has
been a part of your life, the harder the loss hits you. We do not
bathe in the pity of my tears, instead we use them as fuel to do
everything we can to bring this disease to an end.

ADV will continue to be a "plague" on the ferret community until
every ferret breeder, owner, purveyor and veterinarian takes
immediate action against the disease. To many people in responsible
positions have "denied" the threat of ADV being a Zoonosis epidemic.
It is! We have found the "Quick Check ADV" to be unreliable, and
therefore prefer either the ELISA test from AVECON or the CEP-ADV
test from UNITED VACCINE.
There are three things everyone must understand about ADV, It is
real; It is transmittable; It is a debilitative killer.

Dooks and Blessings,
