Subject: Re: [Ferret-Health-list] Pecans and Ferrets

You might want to make sure they are hard shell pecans
and not the "paper shell" pecans. Some people like to
have the paper shell pecan trees because you can crack
the pecan shells with your hands. You can almost look
at them wrong and the shells fall apart.

I've given the cats and ferrets walnuts in the shell
when I've had them so they can chase them around the
house. None of them ever cracked them open but
walnuts are a little tougher and rounder than pecans.
