Subject: Re: prepping for surgery

I've never seen a need to fatten up a ferret before surgery. I do
get all my ferrets accustomed to eating chicken baby food as a treat
so if and when surgery becomes a necessity, it won't be a battle to
get them to eat something new during the first few days of recovery.
Nor have I given a single one any pedialyte during recovery. As long
as their eating and drinking (and there's plenty of water in baby
food), they do OK.
