Subject: straining to poop
My 3 and a half year old ferret has been for the last 5 days
straining to poop. Thinking it was a blockage or constipation i took
her to the vet. however after blood and urine tests along with x-
rays, they could not find anything. They said it could be a bowel
infection and sent me home with some antibiotics. they did keep her
over night because of her dehydration. she's eating and drinking fine
now but still strains to poop. she can get a little out every now and
then but tries to go way more than she actually does. has anyone
witnessed these symptoms in their ferret before? 3 days of
antibiotics doesn't seem to be helping my wee girl. and it's hard to
hear her straining so much. any help at all would be much
appreciated.thx becky and rose
