I'm very sorry to hear of the loss of your ferret.
We have one ferret now who has lived throught the deaths of two of
his mates. I wouldn't say he was extremely close to either of the
other two ferrets, but you could tell he slept a lot more once they
were gone.
I try to play with our lone ferret like another ferret would play
with him. I get on the floor and chase him and roll him around. He
gets my full attention during this time. I think it has really
helped him from being bored or lonely. I even make hissing noises at
him, etc. just to add to the excitement!
