I don't know why it happens, but as an asthmatic, I know that
following surgery there are always problems with fluid buildup in my
lungs, and it has to do with the anesthesia or the way it is given.
I have had several surgeries over the last 10 years where I had a
tube down my throat, and have had a problem each time.
Perhaps these 3 ferrets were just more prone to lung/breathing
problems.
