Subject: New Member with a sick ferret-Please help
I have three ferrets: Sandie, Charlie & Eddie. I think two of my
ferrets have Coccidia. Sandie, my oldest, has had green diarrhea and
will not eat a few times over the last two years. With amox drops
and centrine pills, she is usually better in about four days.
Charlie is going on his second round in about a year. He is having a
harder time of it. He started not wanting to eat and the green
diarrhea Tuesday and I took him to my vet. He got the usual shot and
medication Sandie gets, but was still not eating on his own on Friday
when I took him back to the vet. He kept him over the weekend and is
giving him fluids and meds. My vet is the only vet in town that will
see ferrets, and I do think that he knows what he is doing, but are
there any suggestions anyone can give me on Coccidia, or questions I
should ask my vet? Is this something they will have for now on? I
am so worried. Please help!
