Subject: [Ferret-Health-list] ROOT CANAL vs. EXTRACTION
I'm not a vet but our Sage had a horrible abscess at the top
of her left fang.. we had her tooth removed and our vet
cleaned out the socket.. she ate soup for a few days and is
just fine.. Sage is bettween 5-6 years old... and a sweetie
too.. :)

MY 6 YEAR OLD BOY BROKE HIS TOP LEFT FANG AND HE NEEDS IT
EXTRACTED OR TO HAVE ROOT CANAL DONE. THE PULP IS EXPOSED.
HE'S NOT IN ANY PAIN BUT THE VET SAYS ULTIMATELY THIS WILL
BECOME A PROBLEM. WHAT KIND OF COMPLICATIONS CAN EITHER OF
THESE OPERATIONS CAUSE? CAN AN EXTRACTION CAUSE EYE / EYE
SOCKET PROBLEMS? BLINDNESS? I'VE HEARD SEVERAL "STORIES".
MY BOY PRIDES HIMSELF ON HOW TOUGH HE IS (BITING POWER).
I'M ALSO VERY CONCERNED ABOUT HIS "PRIDE". WILL THIS MAKE
HIM BECOME A BIG SOFTY?
