Hi, Diane,
My only suggestion would be to offer him an extra high quality food,
like Bob Church's Chicken Gravy, to supplement his diet maybe twice a
day. Many ferts lose weight and muscle mass due to adrenal disease, and
the extra calories and protien will help keep him at his strongest until
surgery day. Besides, most of my ferrets consider the gravy an
absolutely wonderful treat.

I use Pam Sessoms' pressure cooker method, which makes less of a mess
and is less of a hassle.
