Subject: Re: Flagyl

I don't have a lot of experience with Flagyl use with ferrets, and
I'm not a vet, but it does sound like a lot. My 13 pound cat had to
take Flagyl and was only getting 50mg twice a day.

But I also know that when comparing drug dosages, it's not just a
simple mg per pound conversion when talking about different animals.
I think it has to do with how fast the drug is metabolized and I
believe there is a formula for figuring these things out.

I do know that it's the most horrible tasting drug there is.

He suggested I try Flagyl and gave me 4 pills (250 mg) each. I am to
spit each pill into 10 parts and give her two parts per day, i.e.. 50
mg per day. She only weighs 1 1/2 pounds. 50 mg per day seems like
a lot for an animal this small. Could someone tell me if this sounds
right.
