I'm so sorry to hear about the baby. This is very unusual for ECE
and it really doesn't sound like this is what's happening with your
ferrets. Baby ferrets that bring ECE into the household are usually
asymptomatic and rarely are very ill from it and only for a day or
two... usually before you even bring the baby home.
I know it's a difficult thing to think about during this time, but a
full necropsy on the baby may help to find out what's going on and
perhaps even save Farrah from becoming the next victim.
