Subject: Suggestions for swollen vulva

My female ferret had adrenal surgery a little over a week ago and I
have a few questions. Her vulva is still very swollen and raw.
When will it go back to normal and what can I do to help it heal. I
was cleaning it daily with warm water on a clean cotton ball and
applying a little bacitracin. After surgery it seemed to be better,
there was no discharge so I stopped. Now it looks horrible? Before
surgery I tried 3 months of Lupron and it did nothing. Her tumor
was big and it was malignant. She is on pediapred once a day for 14
days than every other day for 28 days because our vet said he could
not even visualize the right adrenal? I had another ferret have her
left removed with no vulva swelling prior to surgery, but after it
was very swollen. I can't recall how long after? But the vet also
said he saw the right side and it was very small. Lupron has worked
to alleviate the swelling for her? This is all so odd? Can anyone
offer advice or an explanation? My poor girl's vulva looks horrible
and I do not want to give her antibiotics for no reason. Thank You
