Subject: ADV/Marshall Farms
Hi everyone...
I have a question....The ferret who just tested positive with high
teeters was from Marshalls.Her Mom Katie is on my Ferret Club.The test
was done by swabbing at home and letting Avecon return the results so i
would guess it was done correctly (as opposed to us who do the home
testing)
My question: I called Avecon last week about something else.I talked to
a Dr there/ I asked how long after exposure should one test.He told me
it takes at least 6 weeks to show up.Doesn't this PROVE her 9 week old
baby got it at Marshall Farms????? She's only 9 weeks! If it takes 6
plus weeks to show up then it was NOT exposed at the Pet store.
Will someone Please comment????
On my Club alone,Club Med Ferrets on Yahoo...we have 3 members with new
Marshall babies all shipped at that same time! I just saw one or two
more here.Even IF one of them contacted it from their mother, during
shipping they may have spread it on....WE know Marshalls is a bit on the
secretive side...
I was Scared to death before....now...OMG! The "secret?"
Test Test Test!!!!! DO NOT assume that a baby from a Pet Store is
safe!!!! Never bring a new ferret into your home without testing!
Especially if you may be exposing your other ferrets......
Please Educate yourselves!!
