Subject: Please define "feed frequently" for insulinomic ferrets

I am new to this list and have spent hours researching treatment
for insulinoma but am still kind of lost on some things.
Our rescue takes in ferrets and I am their keeper. I have housed up
to 10 at once and would keep them all if I had room. I presently
have 3 rescued and my own 2. My Bandit, about 3.5 years old, has
insulinoma. Though not confirmed yet by a vet, the classic signs
are all there. All the research says feed frequent high protein
meals, but does not define "frequent". Bandit has been eating well
meat baby food sometimes mixed with cream, and I can't really find
much info on whether the cream is OK. Also, I am assuming
Ferretvite is a NO food since malt is the no. 1 ingredient, but I
cannot confirm this either.
Any help is appreciated and anyone who wants to tell me their
personal experience is welcome. I want to learn as much as I can. I
have dealt with adrenal disease with much success, but not with
insulinoma.
