Subject: Re: Vets: Is there a substitute for Flagyl?

I guess I should have mentioned that we have tried various compounds
for flagyl. None of them have been successful. It is the most vile
tasting stuff in the world. I don't think anything can cover the
taste. I have a friend who had to take it one time and she said she
threw up every time she took it. A case of the cure being worse than
the disease.

Champ's was compounded (liver flavor, maybe?) and I would put a tiny
bit in his soup (2 ice cubes worth). Any more than 0.2 or 0.3 ml and
he could taste it and wouldn't eat his soup. So, I put part in the
soup and had to make him take the rest of it "straight".

If the person who posted some time ago could share their compounding
secret, it would be appreciated by ferrets (and parents) worldwide.
I'll try to search back in the archives to see who it was.
