Subject: Re: Liquid Lupron

Some pharmacies do mix it first before sending it out. I know that
Jayhawk Pharmacy was sending it out premixed and in a syringe.
That's the way my vet got it the first time, though the next time she
specifically asked them not to premix it and they were fine with that
too. Because it comes liquid doesn't mean it's for oral usage.

When Lupron first began being used in ferrets, there was much talk
about having to store the mixed, unused portion in liquid nitrogen.
Storing it in a standard freezer seemed to be OK for short term. I
would be a little concerned about it being sent out premixed via mail
or FedEx and not refrigerated at all. I'd play it safe and ask them
to send the Lupron powder and liquid (sterile saline?) separately and
let the vet mix it just prior to administering it.
