Subject: Re: [Ferret-Health-list] Putting on weight

Hi there fellow ferret lover,

Keep your ferret on a high protein diet, we use purina one kitten
chow and it bulks them up. I know a lot of people swear by ferret
food, but I've been a mom of ferrets since 1985 and I have never had
them on a ferret kibble. And it is so much cheaper. You can also
supplement with Ensure. Vanilla flavor seems to work the best.

Hope this helps! Michele and my six masters of chaos, Luna, Lestat,
Luis, Diago, Sage and Jaedyn and Coke who crossed over to rainbow
bridge after a happy healthy 9 year life with me.

Hi everyone, I've been on the list for a long time. I'm normal one
of
those who lurk and read. I have a question tho hoping someone
might give
me some ideas. I have 4 fuzzies, 2 boys and 2 girls. I just moved
to a
place that allows me to have my ferrets so they get 200% more run
time
around the house and on top of this we got them a huge cage when
we
moved so they aren't so cramped up. This cage stands taller then
me and
I'm 5'1". My question is how can you put weight on a ferret? Since
they
have all this freedom inside and outside the cage they have lost
weight
from the non-stop playing they have been doing. My boys are the
worse,
the girls have lost a little. I just want a little weight put back
on
them and I have no clue how to do it. Any ideas would be helpful.

Thank You
