Subject: [Ferret-Health-list] Need Help ASAP!!!!!

Well, I just let her out one more time to check on her, and she's definately feeling better I think. She was finding hidy holes to try to get into (slow pace, not quite as quickly as normal), and pushing the phone book around and she also had a big drink of water. She was only semi interested in treats at that time, but she took it from me more enthusiastically and acted like she was going to eat it. One thing my mom brought up that I wonder if it could be, is that my husband is the one who takes care of them most of the time and he was deployed wednesday. Could it just be depression (missing her daddy)? It looked like she'd eaten some too. Thanks for the replies so far. I'd consider taking her in to the vet if she weren't doing better and if there was a vet open that knows anything about ferrets. The one emergency vet in the area doesn't.

BTW, she's not shaking anymore either. Does this sound more and more like she was just too hot or like she's been depressed?

I have a 15 month old spayed/descented female that was perfectly fine yesterday afternoon when I saw her last. Now, she's not interested in playing at all, not interested in food, treats, or water (at least not when I tried could be she's just not hungry or thirsty but she always takes treats). She's only interested in ferretone right now of their stuff. I let her out of her cage to see how she'd do and she seemed fine, though a little hesitant at first. Then she just picked a spot on the floor (preferably under something) and just lied there as flat as she could. She's also quite shaky as well.
