Subject: coughing and hair loss
I wrote yesterday about our male ferret Mac. Can anyone give me some
advice please? Vets are not at all knowledgeable about ferrets in
Australia and there are very few of the products or medicines you
discuss available here. Help!
We obtained a 12-18 month old male 6 weeks ago. He had been
surrendered to a ferret breeder by his family who no longer wanted
him. We had him desexed and vaccinated 4 weeks ago. He has been
sneezing and coughing since and is now loosing hair - just like a dog
moulting although our other 3 ferrets aren't looding any hair at
all.
Otherwise he seems ok but I'm still concerned. I've looked up
adrenal in your archives but he doesn't seem to have difficulty
urinating.
I also have a question about the vaccination. It was a "C4 - Protech
Canine Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus and Parainfluenza Fort
Dodge". I thought ferrets only needed to be vaccinated against
canine distemper?
We live in Australia.
Can anyone please help with adivce?
