Ferrets sometimes get a condition which is called foot rot. What it
actually is is sacarptes scabii, the sarcoptic mange mite, attacks the
bed of the nail. Did your vet try to get a scraping around the nail and
microscope it? I believe the usual treatment is ivermectin by injection.
