Subject: Re: Cancerous Adrenal? Chemo?

My first ferret was diagnosed with lymphosarcoma and I had him treated with
chemo. The first six months were okay, he seemed to maybe be in remission,
but he slowly, and I do mean slowly, went downhill. I had the chemo done for
my own selfish reasons, I didn't want to lose him, but the quality of his
life was not good. I didn't do him any good by prolonging it, and since it
was so slow to progress it made the final decision I had to make even harder.
My current ferret had a malignant tumor removed with his adrenal gland last
April, and my vet said since he was able to remove all the tumor he wouldn't
want to do the chemo. Hobo has recovered and has been fine. I personally
wouldn't do the chemo again, I'd rather have a shorter period of quality time
with him than put my little buddy through it. Good luck.
